Basketball Recap: 21 Straight Home Victories for Sandia

Sandia extended their winning streak to 13 games thanks to a huge performance from Sydney Benally. Everything went the Sandia Matadors' way against the La Cueva Bears on Saturday as the Sandia Matadors made off with a 59-34 victory which was due in part to Benally, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was her eighth in a row with at least 15 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Audri Wright, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Sandia's win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.5 points. As for La Cueva, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 20-7 record.
