Soccer Game Preview: The Woodlands vs. Aldine

The Woodlands has won ten straight games at home, while Aldine has won ten straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Woodlands Highlanders will host the Aldine Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Aldine better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when The Woodlands really gets things going. The Woodlands was the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Oak Ridge on Monday. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the War Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Aldine got the win against Spring last Monday by a conclusive 9-1. Gewlaymi Gonzalez was a massive factor in the win as she booted in five goals all by herself.

Aldine has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 64 goals over those 11 contests. The Woodlands' win bumped their record up to 19-1-1.
