Baseball Game Preview: Newark Charter School Patriots vs. Smyrna Eagles

For the second straight game, Newark Charter School will face off against Smyrna. The Patriots will venture away from home to challenge the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Newark Charter School's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Smyrna's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Newark Charter School's offense. They fell just short of Smyrna by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Newark Charter School saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Doron Griffin, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Smyrna and bumps their season record up to 4-14. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Newark Charter School, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.
