Football Game Preview: Wake Forest Cougars vs. Franklinton Red Rams + How To Watch

The Wake Forest Cougars will head out to face off against the Franklinton Red Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wake Forest has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 143 points over their last three games.

On Friday, Wake Forest got the win against Knightdale by a conclusive 48-24. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Micah Olu and Landen Perry were among the main playmakers for Wake Forest as the former gained 215 total yards and the latter rushed for 120 yards and two TDs on only six carries. Olu also rushed for 170 rushing yards, which is notable because the Cougars are 4-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wake Forest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 308 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knightdale only rushed for 33.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Franklinton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let East Wake get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Friday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Red Rams were the (much) better team in the second half.

Franklinton's win came from a few key players Wake Forest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amani Blacknall, who picked up 130 receiving yards and one score. Those 130 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

The victory got Wake Forest back to even at 4-4. As for Franklinton, their record is now 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Wake Forest against Franklinton when the teams last played back in September of 2018, as the team secured a 42-7 win. In that contest, the Cougars amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
