Covenant Day piles up the points against Charlotte Christian

Recap: Covenant Day Lions vs. Charlotte Christian Knights

The Covenant Day Lions entered their tilt with the Charlotte Christian Knights with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Covenant Day took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 73-41 victory over Charlotte Christian. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-16.

Covenant Day's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Walker Olshefski, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Olshefski posted two or more blocks. Michael Marcus Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Charlotte Christian saw an underclassman step up: Marshall Nicholson scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Ike Corbin, who scored five points.

Covenant Day's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Charlotte Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covenant Day the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Cannon at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
