It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Elysian Fields ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Waskom Wildcats 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

Elysian Fields saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Kennedy, who scored a run while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits Kennedy has posted since back in March of 2024.

Kennedy wasn't the only one making solid contact: Elysian Fields kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Elysian Fields' win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Waskom, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
