Basketball Recap: Humble Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Milan Martinez and Deriyah Williams

Humble Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 47-26 to the Lake Houston HomeSchool Conquerors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-12 two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Humble Christian had strong showings from Deriyah Williams, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 12 points, and Milan Martinez, who posted eight points.

Humble Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lake Houston HomeSchool, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humble Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Banff at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Humble Christian is facing Banff at the right time seeing as Banff is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lake Houston HomeSchool, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Second Baptist at 4:30 p.m. on February 7th.
