Baseball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall was the 7-2 winner over Wisconsin Heights when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell 5-2 to the Vanguards on Tuesday. Cardinals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Vanguards since on Tuesday.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Wisconsin Heights, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Marshall will venture away from home to challenge Johnson Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bluejays' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wisconsin Heights, they will take on Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
