Basketball Recap: Lyman Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lyman can now relate to. They fell 48-40 to the Winter Springs Bears on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Bears are ranked 174th).

Daniel Stringer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Winter Springs, going 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and five boards. The contest was Stringer's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was William Sanders, who posted seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Lyman and nudges their season record down to 7-18. As for Winter Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Lyman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winter Springs, they will take on Lake Howell at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Howell will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Winter Springs surely won't give up without a fight.
