Basketball Recap: Sherman Oaks CES Knights vs. Northridge Academy Pumas

While it was all tied up 18-18 at halftime, the Sherman Oaks CES Knights were not quite the Northridge Academy Pumas's equal in the second half on Wednesday. Sherman Oaks CES took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pumas. Sherman Oaks CES was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pumas apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Sherman Oaks CES's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlo Canas, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre O'Daniel, who scored 18 points.

Leading Northridge Academy to victory were Anthony Indzhukushyan and Marquis Jiles. Indzhukushyan scored 18 points, while Jiles scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. E'Xavier Brown was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Sherman Oaks CES now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Northridge Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Sherman Oaks CES will head out on the road to face off against the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Fulton is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Northridge Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. East Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.1 points per game this season.
