Soccer Game Preview: Horizon Honors vs. Gilbert Classical Academy

The Horizon Honors Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Friday, Horizon Honors came up short against Arete Prep and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Gilbert Classical Academy entered their match against Chandler Prep on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Gilbert Classical Academy took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chandler Prep. The loss was the Spartans' first of the season.

Gilbert Classical Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-1. As for Horizon Honors, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2-2.

Horizon Honors was able to grind out a solid win over Gilbert Classical Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Horizon Honors since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
