Football Game Preview: Athens Christian Eagles vs. Bethlehem Christian Academy Knights

Two dominant backs in Harper Ford and Adian Grady are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Athens Christian Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bethlehem Christian Academy Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Athens Christian came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against George Walton Academy, falling 40-16.

Meanwhile, Bethlehem Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 21-14 victory over the Lions.

Bethlehem Christian Academy's defense made their presence known, laying out Kylan Fryar. four times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tucker Scoggins, James Adams, and Sam Autry, who each picked up one sack apiece. Bethlehem Christian Academy got some further help from Scoggins: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Bethlehem Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Athens Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3.

Athens Christian took a serious blow against Bethlehem Christian Academy when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 33-0. Thankfully for the Eagles, Zeke Clanton (who rushed for 237 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.2 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
