There's no place like home for Herscher, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Reed-Custer Comets by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22.

Herscher's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Reed-Custer, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Herscher and Reed-Custer could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 452nd) will meet Bradley-Bourbonnais (ranked 88th) at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Reed-Custer will face off against Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (567 vs. 225).
