League recap: Peterson's hot bat leads Gilbert

I Section II league recap: 3/13/13

Dustin Peterson was the hottest hitter in I Section II this week, racking up a .706 average, two home runs and 11 RBIs. Meanwhile, Gilbert put together a 5-0 week.

The league's top pitcher this week was Buena's Darick Hall. He racked up 15 strike outs this week.

Mesquite stole 17 bases this week, adding to its league-leading 30 steals on the year.

The league boasted 26 .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Jacob DeAnda, who hit .857 by going 6-for-7.



Kevin Gonzalez threw a shutout as he led the Tigers to victory over Skyline, 10-0, on Tuesday. He struck out seven, allowing zero hits.
