Baseball Recap: Central Texas Christian Takes a Loss

The Central Texas Christian Lions didn't have quite enough to beat the Lutheran Mustangs on Tuesday and fell 6-5. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ike Klimchuck put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Klimchuck was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Klimchuck wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Good, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Central Texas Christian's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5. As for Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

While Central Texas Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
