Football Recap: Canaan Bernhardt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jackson over Westover

Jackson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 46-35 to the Westover Patriots. The Red Devils lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 36-0 score last time.

Jackson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Canaan Bernhardt, who threw for 213 yards and two TDs. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Jaison McCall, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Westover, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Jackson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 44-0 win against Rutland on the 26th. As for Westover, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-14 loss against Peach County on the 25th.
