The Woods Cross Wildcats will challenge the Clearfield Falcons at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Woods Cross is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1  runs per game  this season.
Woods Cross will roll into the  game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any  runs  on Friday, then bounced right back against Roy  on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by  a  14-7 margin over the Royals. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
 Bree Benson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and four unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.

 On the hitting side, Woods Cross got a  massive  performance out of  Rylee Feller, who  went 4-for-5 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  four  hits gave  Feller a new career-high.  Audrey Ayala was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all six of her plate appearances.
 Feller wasn't the only one making solid contact: Woods Cross  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. The Wildcats are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Meanwhile, Clearfield suffered their biggest  defeat since April 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost  11-3 to Box Elder. The Falcons have struggled against the Bees recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Clearfield also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in:  Jenna Lloyd gave up three earned  (and eight unearned) runs on 12 hits.
 At the plate, Clearfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lyla Leonhardt, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Clearfield's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Woods Cross, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Wednesday's   contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Woods Cross hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Clearfield struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
