Basketball Recap: University's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University). They managed a 72-68 victory over the St. Margaret's Tartans on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.

University got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Evans out in front who went 8 of 16 on his way to 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shervin Moarrefian, who went 6 of 15 en route to 19 points and three steals.

University was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

University's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. As for St. Margaret's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will square off against Laguna Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laguna Beach knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully University likes a good challenge. As for St. Margaret's, they will face off against Woodbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Margaret's is facing Woodbridge at the right time seeing as Woodbridge is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
