Softball Recap: THESA Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

THESA hadn't done well against Nolan Catholic recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. THESA put the hurt on Nolan Catholic with a sharp 15-3 win. Fans of THESA have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Ivy Martinez (2029) was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martinez (2029) was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, Lilly Minyard was excellent, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Liberty Justus (2029), who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

THESA was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nolan Catholic only posted a batting average of .222.

The victory was the third in a row for THESA, bringing their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.0 runs this season. As for Nolan Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

THESA will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against UME Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on April 20. As for Nolan Catholic, they will host Bishop Lynch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
