Basketball Recap: Pritzker Takes a Loss

Pritzker lost against ITW David Speer Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pritzker Jaguars took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the ITW David Speer Academy Pride. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Pritzker lost, don't look at Kalyne Rodriguez. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 21 rebounds. Rodriguez is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Dailiany Azonca was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Even though they lost, Pritzker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Miabella Collazo was her usual excellent self, posting 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals for ITW David Speer Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaiyah Costoso, who posted 13 points.

Pritzker's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for ITW David Speer Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pritzker will welcome The Noble Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Noble Academy's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so Pritzker's offense will have their work cut out for them. ITW David Speer Academy has already played their next game (against Bulls College Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
