Baseball Recap: Creekview Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against The Colony, Creekview was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They skirted past the Hillcrest Panthers 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Panthers back in March, they had to take a 7-0 loss.

Not much got past Sam Perez, who gave up just five hits to keep Hillcrest off the board.

At the plate, Creekview's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Landberg, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Landberg a new career-high.

Creekview moved to 14-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Hillcrest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekview will welcome Newman Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Hillcrest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm Gold at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
