Basketball Game Preview: Morton Panthers vs. Forest Bearcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Morton Panthers duke it out with the Forest Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Morton will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Morton's tournament run continued when they took on Ridgeland on Saturday. Morton simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ridgeland 47-18. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Titans are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Forest came up short against Quitman on Tuesday and fell 49-36. The Bearcats have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Forest's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Morton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Everything went Morton's way against Forest in their previous matchup on January 3rd, as Morton made off with a 52-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
