Volleyball Recap: Westmont Hilltop Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

While Westmont Hilltop's victory against Bellwood-Antis wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hilltoppers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Blue Devils 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hilltoppers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Their offense was headlined by Elizabeth Veranese and Brookelyn Summers, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Isabella Thomas and her 17 assists. Summers was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Westmont Hilltop's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Bellwood-Antis, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Westmont Hilltop didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Elk County Catholic on the 13th. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Guilfoyle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
