Soccer Recap: Borrego Springs Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Francis Parker, Borrego Springs was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Victory Christian Academy Knights 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Rams were the better team in the second half.

Gabriel Garcia and Kevin Fuentes scored both of Borrego Springs' goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

The win snapped Borrego Springs' losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. As for Victory Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Borrego Springs will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Vincent Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. Victory Christian Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Cristo Rey at 3:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
