Baseball Recap: Anclote Victorious

Anclote never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Fivay Falcons as the Anclote Sharks made off with a 20-0 win. Considering the Sharks' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Anthony Brasby was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over four innings pitched. Brasby was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Anclote got a big performance out of Jayden Ortiz, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Those two runs gave Ortiz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paul Ramos, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Anclote's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Fivay, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Anclote will head out on the road to challenge IMG Academy White at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fivay, they will host Lakeside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
