Escondido Charter and West Hills squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Escondido Charter had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wolf Pack by a score of 7-6. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Olivia Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zaliyah Jones, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Escondido Charter's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for West Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9-1 record this season.
