Softball Game Preview: Gilbert Christian Knights vs. Payson Longhorns

The Gilbert Christian Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Payson Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilbert Christian has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 25.

Gilbert Christian lost 22-6 to Blue Ridge on Monday.

Giana Boggs was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Vanni, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Payson came up short against Bourgade Catholic on Monday, falling 7-1. The Longhorns haven't had much luck with the Golden Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Payson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Holdyn Waterman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Gilbert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Payson, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
