Football Recap: Assumption Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The Assumption Knights came up short against the Geneseo Maple Leafs on Friday and fell 26-18.

Jackson McAvoy had an outrageously good game for Geneseo as he rushed for 215 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. McAvoy was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards. Another player making a difference was Kye Weinzierl, who rushed for 127 yards and two TDs on only ten carries.

Assumption's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Geneseo, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Assumption will square off against Muscatine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Geneseo, they will face off against Rock Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Maple Leafs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
