Baseball Recap: East Mecklenburg Takes a Loss

East Mecklenburg fell victim to Charlotte Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Cougars. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

East Mecklenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Charlotte Catholic, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2.

Looking ahead, East Mecklenburg will take on Charlotte Christian in a tournament on Saturday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Charlotte Catholic, they are taking a road trip to take on Christ School at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Greenies have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
