Soccer Game Preview: Castaic vs. Saugus

The Castaic Coyotes will challenge the Saugus Centurions at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Castaic's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Canyon by a score of 2-0. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Cowboys are ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Saugus, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Golden Valley 9-0 on Thursday. The Centurions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Golden Valley with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Makenna Blum (3), Emily Thompson (3), Makea Leonard (2), and Natalia Ramirez.

Saugus' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four games. As for Castaic, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-3.
