Coeur d'Alene had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lakeland Hawks on Tuesday. The Vikings were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Hawks, so the Vikings were just returning the favor.

One reason for the win was Coeur d'Alene's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-11.

Coeur d'Alene will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on September 9. After both having extra time off, Lakeland and Lake City will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on September 4.
