Baseball Game Preview: Greenville Hornets vs. Lafayette Commodores

For the second straight game, Greenville will face off against Lafayette. The Hornets will square off against the Commodores at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Greenville has won five straight at home, while Lafayette won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.

Greenville heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Saturday. They lost 15-3 to Lafayette. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Commodores recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Greenville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Titus, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Lafayette has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Greenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.
