Basketball Game Preview: DSST: Conservatory Green Hornets vs. Regis Groff Fusion

The DSST: Conservatory Green Hornets and the Regis Groff Fusion will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. DSST: Conservatory Green knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Regis Groff likes a good challenge.

DSST: Conservatory Green saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took down DSST: Cedar 72-55. The Hornets pushed the score to 61-40 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Manual typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Regis Groff proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Thunderbolts, sneaking past 73-71.

Regis Groff found their leader in sophomore James Murdock, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and ten boards. The match was Murdock's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Javelle Taylor, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points and five steals.

Regis Groff is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points over those games. DSST: Conservatory Green's victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
