Southern Guilford is 9-1 against High Point Central since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Storm will face off against the Bison at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Southern Guilford had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Dudley on Thursday. The Storm put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 22-5 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Storm sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Naomi Hunt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Goins, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Cemiah Barringer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI.
Southern Guilford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask High Point Central). Everything went their way against Ben L. Smith on Thursday as they made off with a 26-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.
Southern Guilford pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for High Point Central, their record now sits at 7-8.
Everything went Southern Guilford's way against High Point Central in their previous matchup back in March, as Southern Guilford made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
