Basketball Recap: Highland's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Highland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 50-45 win over the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Defeat or not, Canyon Ridge got some senior leadership from Mason Hill and Kade McEntire. Hill almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, while McEntire posted 18 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points McEntire has posted since back in February of 2024. Dylan Brown was another key player, putting up ten points.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Canyon Ridge, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Highland will square off against Rigby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Highland is facing Rigby at the right time seeing as Rigby is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Canyon Ridge, they will face off against Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Madison will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Canyon Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
