Baseball Recap: Golden Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Castle View, Golden was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Eaton Reds 2-1.

Sawyer Brinkman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luca Casali, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Gunnar Hetrick also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Golden is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Eaton fell to 5-1.

Golden has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Denver North on the 1st. As for Eaton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 loss against Berthoud on the 2nd.
