Volleyball Recap: Bernie Mules vs. Gideon Bulldogs
Bernie lost to Gideon back in October, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. Everything went the Bernie Mules' way against the Gideon Bulldogs as the Bernie Mules made off with a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mules.
One reason for the win was Bernie's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-19, 25-18.
Bailey Henry paced Bernie's offense, picking up 13 kills. Henry got some help from
Alexa Dillinger and her 16 assists. Dillinger was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Haley Skinner, who had 14 digs. Another player making a difference was Aubree Sharp, who had six digs and 22 assists.
Bernie is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9-3 record this season. As for Gideon, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.
Bernie has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Clarkton on the 29th. Gideon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
