Softball Recap: Winters Mill Comes Up Short

Winters Mill lost against Century back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Briana Collins put in work no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Collins was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Natalie Furr was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Winters Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Century, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Winters Mill will face off against rival Westminster at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Century is set to take on their familiar foe Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
