American Heritage will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.

American Heritage escaped with a win against the Buccaneers by the margin of a single free throw, 62-61. Given American Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

American Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xander Gerard led the charge by scoring 22 points. Gerard has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. Gerard was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and two steals.

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy - Canyons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past FAU High 94-62 at home. That looming 94-62 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Somerset Academy - Canyons yet this season.
