Volleyball Recap: New Albany Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but New Albany had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Newton County Cougars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since August 26th.

New Albany wouldn't go down easily and took Newton County into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 25-15, 15-25, 15-5.

Allie Keller paced New Albany's offense, picking up 21 kills. Keller got some help from Sara Barton Ozbirn and her 23 assists. Teelie Tyer controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

New Albany's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 32-10-4. As for Newton County, their defeat ended a 20-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 35-6.

As of now, neither New Albany nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
