Softball Recap: Skyline Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Skyline's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Kettle Run Cougars by a score of 7-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mackenzie McIntyre spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kinley Llewellyn, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlynn King, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Kettle Run, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Skyline is set to take on their familiar foe Sherando at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kettle Run will square off against rival Meridian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
