Baseball Game Preview: Overland Trailblazers vs. Hinkley Thunder

The Overland Trailblazers will square off against the Hinkley Thunder at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Overland and 15 for Hinkley.

Adams City hit Overland with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trailblazers lost 12-2 to the Eagles.

Overland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malachi Gross, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hinkley's offense. They came up short against Arvada on Friday, falling 14-0.

Hinkley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Overland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Overland took their win against Hinkley in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 20-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trailblazers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
