Basketball Recap: Abby Wendte's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Notre Dame De Sion over Helias

Notre Dame de Sion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Helias Crusaders.

Notre Dame de Sion lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Abby Wendte, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and three steals. Wendte is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Blaine, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Notre Dame de Sion's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Helias, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Notre Dame de Sion wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-53 victory against Boonville on the 28th. As for Helias, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-48 win against Jefferson City on the 28th.
