Softball Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Hollister Haybalers

The Chowchilla Tribe will face off against the Hollister Haybalers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chowchilla has three straight wins, Hollister has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Chowchilla's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Sierra 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Tribe, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Heaven Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Tomlinson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Brooklyn Purcell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Chowchilla kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Hollister fell victim to King's Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 11-0.

Chowchilla's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Hollister, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
