Soccer Game Preview: Allendale vs. Grand Haven

The Allendale Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Grand Haven Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Allendale's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Wednesday, neither Allendale nor Cedar Springs could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Grand Haven unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They played to a draw too, finishing 2-2 against East Kentwood. The result kept Grand Haven happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 15th.

Grand Haven's draw gives them a new season record of 11-1-1. Meanwhile, Allendale's record is now 7-6-3.

Allendale was able to grind out a solid win over Grand Haven in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
