Softball Recap: Cloverdale Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Cloverdale waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Kelseyville Knights by a score of 8-3. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Camryn Bird made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Charlotte Burchett tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Bella Sanchez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Emerson Reasoner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

Cloverdale pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Kelseyville, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-7 record.

Coming up, Cloverdale will take on Lower Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kelseyville, they will face off against Fort Bragg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Timberwolves have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
