Basketball Game Preview: Alcovy Tigers vs. Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs

The Alcovy Tigers will take on the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Alcovy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Habersham Central just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Raiders are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Winder-Barrow, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Monroe Area 78-41. The Bulldoggs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Winder-Barrow pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.1 points. As for Alcovy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
