Baseball Game Preview: Alchesay Falcons vs. Holbrook Roadrunners

The Alchesay Falcons will square off against the Holbrook Roadrunners at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alchesay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, Alchesay came up short against Blue Ridge and fell 9-4. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost four in a row.

Esau Tate was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Holbrook didn't have quite enough to beat Winslow on Friday and fell 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Roadrunners have lost by just one run.

Ben Eisele made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more doubles the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Niko Espitia, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Alchesay's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Holbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alchesay hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .398. However, it's not like Holbrook struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Alchesay couldn't quite finish off Holbrook when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can Alchesay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
