Softball Game Preview: WestSide Renegades vs. Liberty Raiders

WestSide hasn't had much luck against Liberty recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Renegades will look to defend their home field against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

WestSide lost 14-1 to Scott on Tuesday. The Renegades have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Karsyn Paynter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Liberty was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They came up short against Sherman, falling 10-2. The Raiders have struggled against the Tide recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Liberty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Bowles, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for WestSide, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. WestSide has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

WestSide might still be hurting after the 16-2 defeat they got from Liberty in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Renegades avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
