Basketball Game Preview: Everglades Gators vs. Miramar Patriots

Everglades hasn't had much luck against Miramar recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Everglades Gators will face off against the Miramar Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Everglades comes in on six and Miramar on three.

Everglades is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Cooper City by a score of 66-57.

Meanwhile, Miramar didn't have too much trouble with Nova on Wednesday as they won 75-59. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Titans are ranked 401st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Everglades is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Miramar, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Everglades might still be hurting after the 60-40 loss they got from Miramar in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Everglades avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
